RHP Jesse Crain: The reliever got off to a rough start in his second year back from shoulder surgery. Crain rebounded toward the end of ’09, but the right-hander is arbitration-eligible and there is the question of whether it’s worth paying him a salary that could approach $3 million. The bullpen is already considered to be an area of strength for the Twins, with Matt Guerrier, Jon Rauch and Jose Mijares all returning. A healthy Pat Neshek and Boof Bonser could give the Twins enough relief options that they could trade Crain or non-tender him.
